About Khandala Tourism Khandala is one of the most popular hill stations of Maharashtra, located in the Sahyadri mountains, and is 5 km away from Lonavala, yet another popular hill getaway. Situated at an altitude of 625 m, this quiet hill town is a weekend escape for residents of Mumbai and Pune. Pleasant weather throughout the year, beautiful vistas of the Western Ghats, ancient caves to explore, and myriad streams and waterfalls, all add to its attractions. This hilly region offers ample opportunities for trekking and hiking and other outdoors activities.

 KhandalaKhandala is a not-to-be-missed tourist spot in the state of Maharashtra. The picturesque locales and the tranquil environment of the place attract a huge influx of tourists from all the parts of India. However, it is more popular amongst the natives of Mumbai and Pune, as it lies at a nominal distance from both the cities. Thus, the hill station welcomes regular tourists round the year. The scenic beauty of the place is just awe-inspiring and will leave you asking for more.

Sightseeing in Khandala
Amrutanjan Point:
at the Khandala Ghat offers great views, as also Duke's Nose (named after Duke of Wellington),which is a sharp cliff from where you get sweeping views of the region. Ryewood Park and Shivaji Park are landscaped gardens frequented by families and couples.

Bushy Dam:
Bushy Dam is worth a visit during the monsoons when the overflowing waters create a large waterfall over the lake. At other times of the year, it's a popular picnic spot. Tugauli Lake and Lonavala Lake are some of the other spots to picnic and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Rajmachi Park offers breathtaking vistas, including a glimpse of the towers of Rajmachi Fort from the eastern end.

Reversing Station Point :
Reversing Station Point also offers breathtaking view of Duke's Nose. From here, one can also see trains changing lines on either side.

Tiger's Leap:
From the vantage point of Tiger's Leap, you can hope to get some of the most spectacular views of the valley situated below. The name of the spot is 'Tiger's Leap' because as you gaze down it, it looks like a tiger leaping into the valley. To ensure the safety of the visitors, big holes have been provided for looking down from the great height.

Karla and Bhaja Caves: Karla and Bhaja Caves are located at a distance of approximately 16 km from Khandala. Dating back to the 2nd century BC, these caves are visited by a large numbers of tourists every year. They belong to the Hinayana sect of Buddhism and serve as an example of the rock cut architecture of that time.

Khandala Lake and Bhushi Lake: Khandala Lake and Bhushi Lake situated here are definitely worth having a look at. The picturesque surroundings and serene environment of the lakes are surely going to take away your heart.
